Will there be a war or not? Can we stay present within ourselves while there is a war happening around us?
The infuriating cycle that is full of compromises and recurring changes, that we call history, cannot stop. The characters in “Pisti in the bloodrain” feel panic and relief over this maddening circle, and these feelings drive them.
Pisti is not a human being, but an overwhelmed identity or persona, a complex pile of contents, because to have two personalities means freedom.
There is no escape from the constantly changing personalities, even if they contain the promise of redemption and release.
Pisti is four and ten million at the same time, he has a past, a present, a future, a lover, a job, but he does not have a last name.
Pistipistipistipistipisti is the creator of chaos that resides in all of our minds.
“I have just finished my new grotesque play. The title is: Pisti in the bloodrain. They will either censor it, or I will go to heaven. There is no third option. Actually, there is: maybe they will not give a sh*t about me. Maybe this option would be the best.”
(Istvan Orkeny’s letter he wrote to his friend in 1969).
